Virgin Voyages outlines travel agent partnerships

Virgin Voyages announced today that it is officially open for business for travel partners in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. For a limited time the brand is offering a sweepstakes for those who sign up. According to Travel Weekly, the winner could win a private tea time with founder Richard Branson.

The cruise line is calling their travel partners “First Mates” and has opened registration on, a dedicated online platform for travel sellers.

“On board a ship, a First Mate is the Captain’s most trusted confidant and right hand, which is how we see our travel partners because their input and guidance has been critical to the development of our sales strategy, policies and onboard experiences,” said Stacy Shaw, vice-president of sales and business development for Virgin Voyages. “We aim to be brilliant to do business with, and we are calling all travel sellers looking for a fresh travel option for their customers and a simple approach to business to join us on our journey as a First Mate.”

Agents can reach the new portal at beginning on February 5, and sign up to learn the platform on February 6. Agents can begin booking on the cruise line as of February 14.

“ will be the digital home for First Mates to learn, engage and do business with Virgin Voyages,” the cruise line said in a news release, as well as finding downloadable digital and in-store marketing materials and interactive learning materials.

Virgin Voyages will be launching their first ship, on their ship the Scarlet Lady, sometime in 2020.
