Southwest Airlines’ first flights to Hawaii will begin in April

Southwest Airlines is selling tickets for their routes to Hawaii from the United States. Southwest will be flying to the Hawaiian Islands from California.

More than a year after first announcing flights to Hawaii, Southwest Airlines is finally selling tickets for the routes.

9 new airlines added to TSA PreCheck

The first flights to take off to the Hawaiian Islands on Southwest are from Oakland and San Jose, California. They will also be flying between Honolulu and Kahalui (Maui) and between Honolulu and Kona. Tickets for the first set of flights are on sale now, and will begin service on March 17, 2019.

Southwest has been working on gaining FAA approval, which it received in early March. Their first flight between the continental United States will launch on March 17 between Oakland and Honolulu, followed by an Oakland to Kahalui flight on April 7. Flights between San Jose and the Hawaiian Islands will begin in May.

Southwest will announce plans for flights from San Diego and Sacramento within the next few weeks.
